The Youth Sub-committee of the Culture and Leisure Committee sets goals for the relevant services, monitors their realisation and submits a statement to the Culture and Leisure Committee on the performance budget and action plan. Additionally, the Sub-committee handles the responsibilities related to allocating grants for the implementation of youth activities and youth policy. It also monitors the realisation of young people’s participatory budgeting and young people’s initiatives in Helsinki.
The City Council appoints the sub-committees’ members, deputies and chairs for the council term.
The Sub-committee has nine members. Each member has a personal deputy.
